Based in Paris but born in Tours, Roche Musique sees daylight in 2012. It’s the brainchild of artist and label manager Cezaire, aka Jean Janin. After being a influential blogger and party maker, it was natural for Jean to start a label pushing his eclectic taste. Influenced by House, Nu disco and Funk, Jean quickly brought around him a team of young and promising talents to transform Roche Musique into one of Paris’ reference label.
Two years in, Roche Musique has established a solid roster with France’s most promising talent. This bunch has been on a solid strike of releases, earning millions of plays on Soundcloud and YouTube. Kartell (Riviera) and FKJ (Time For a Change) started things up. Cherokee (Don’t Matter) joined in 2013, along Karma Kid (Like I’m On Fire), followed by Darius (Romance) and Zimmer (Sensify Me) in 2014.
From House to R&B, Roche Musique leads the way to a new French Sound. Could it be called French Touch 3.0 ? Sure. This group of artists is definitely shaping a new sound that has nothing to envy to its predecessors, and that is unmistakely French.
Appart from it’s solid core of top players, Roche also pushes bounderies with eclectic signees : Jordan Lee (from ‘Love On The Beat’ fame), Dabeull (« Coolege » collective) and Plage 84 are bound to soon release EPs on Roche.
Plenty of big name artists have supported Roche Musique’s releases : Canadian beatmaker Kaytranada, UK house stapple Bondax, Gramatik, Kastle, Diplo and many more. In this digital age, it’s also nice to see Roche Musique is about true friendship and team spirit. If you follow their instagrams, you’ll see the Roche Musique’s crew smashing pretty much every party in Paris town and beyond.
Be on the watch as these kids keep putting out releases that is groovy as hell and pushes the boundaries of house music.
With his tropical twist on house and disco, Zimmer is taking 2015 by storm. The Parisian producer calls upon both the 'City of Love' and California for his music, combining feel-good grooves and dreamy soundscapes.
In the few years he's been around, Zimmer's made his name largely of blog-hit remixes (MØ, Moullinex, Moon Boots…) and fun reworks (Ella, Chic, Tina Turner…), while his religiously followed mixtape series keeps listeners in a year-round summer state of mind.
His original work proves just as good, too: "Galapagos" is a euphoric slow house gateway to the islands it's named for, while his latest single, "Sensify Me" dips into night-time. Having recently joined hot label Roche Musique, Zimmer has emerged as one of the leaders of the new French house sound along Darius, FKJ, Kartell and more.
But perhaps the best way to experience the magic power of Zimmer is to see him DJ. His euphoric sets have made him a stapple in the international DJ circuit with multiple US and Asia tours, weekend club dates all over Europe and appearances in festivals like Calvi On The Rocks, Peacock Society and more.
Iconic figure ans spearhead of young label Roche Musique (created in 2012), Kartell knew how to stand out within a few months as one of the major revelations of the Parisian electronic scene.
Native from the city of Tours but exiled in Paris since 2 years, the young artist keeps amazing us by his pronouced musical maturity and permanent creative renewal.
From «Riviera », first signature of Roche Musique, to his last EP « Sapphire », but also the inevitable « Pantera », Kartell now evolves in a musical universe made of House tones, colored by Nu-Disco and R'n'B accents that became his signature.
Strong from his hundred dates in France, Europe, but also more widely in North and South America, the young producer has also become famous for his collaborations with confirmed artists such as Karma Kid or Jabberwocky, whose remixes have more than one million views.
Surrounded with his friends and peers of Roche Musique label (Darius, FKJ, Cherokee,…) and supported by acknowledged producers such as Kaytranada, The Magician, Bondax or Kastle, Kartell now evolves on an audacious and innovative international music scene, widely contributing at the renewal of « French Touch » electronic music.
