You're Welcome w/ Goldcap, Fictional, & Chuwee
The thought of bringing the best underground house, dance, techno, retro in to Monarch’s dungeon disco living room of lust, then filling it with everyone you know and love the most, is what YW’s aiming for, pulling for, and dreaming after. Still on a high from the too perfect 1 Year Anniversary, a sold-out night with Atish & Mark Slee, and a fantastic welcome in to the new year with San Diego wonder kid DINK, there’s just no other way I’d want to keep it going than with this man, a spiritual guru with an impeccable vision for dance floor unity….Goldcap. This is a night for you, me, him, and her. It’s about saying fuck the 9 to 5. It’s about being you and embracing the one next to you. There’s only one you, SAY YOU’RE WELCOME.
In a world of music dominated by image, ego, and social stature, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a musician do just the opposite. Goldcap is on a path all his own, a mission to bring the listener on a journey of spirituality, breaking down barriers set by media and instead pushing one in a direction keen to personal growth and enlightenment. Known to weave in spiritual passages, motivational speech, and captivating philosophy in to every set, it’s never short of special to hear this man mix. That atop minimal, deep, tribal house and techno, it’s impossible not to dance. With his heavily rotated and outrageously good live recording alongside Sabo at last years LIB taking over the internet, and recently having linked up with personal favorite Acid Pauli, it’s obvious big things are in store for the one we call….Goldcap. Very happy to have this man in the building, come take the journey with us….
A new project from Benjamin K and Mantranova, Fictional is aimed towards the softer side of things. The deeper side of things. The connections made between you and those around you. The people you meet, and the experiences you share. It’s an attempt to audibly connect you and the person beside you on a level higher than physicality, but that of mental solidarity. Using rolled out basslines, acute synths, and vocal snippets speaking to your inner creative, it was best described recently as…”treehouse music.” Under the new name, making their You’re Welcome debut, they are….Fictional.
