RICKY EAT ACID (Terrible Records / Orchid Tapes)
"Lately i've been really into music that sounds like it's reaching upwards to God and falling short, over & over."
James Campbell and Omni Rutledge are the masterminds behind 2ToneDisco. James grew up in a Hi-Fi household in England, where he started listening to his dad's record collection any chance he could get. And Omni credits his inspiration for music production to the Nintendo Gameboy, from which he would mimic the 8-bit chip tune music on his Casio keyboard. When this unlikely duo finally met, their artistic styles fused together flawlessly, combining James' indie disco dance sound with Omni's chip vibe.
But apart from their expertise in music production, 2ToneDisco have a knack for live performances. They are energetic and understand how to channel that energy to any type of crowd. This means that if you ever attend a 2ToneDisco show, come prepared to dance.
You know that girl at that party who is being kind of annoying but it's like whatever she's probably drunk and looking for attention so we'll engage her in conversation because it's amusing and she'll probably embarrass herself by telling way too much about her personal life? It's like that kinda, except she turns out to be really creepy and makes you never want to talk to her again.
