Roy Davis Jr.
Roy Davis Jr. was introduced to dance music in the late 1980’s by legends as DJ Pierre, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Marshall Jefferson and Lil’ Louis. Davis began mixing when he was 13, mixing breaks, disco and then years later, house, techno and acid. The big turning point for Roy Davis Jr. was in 1993. While in college he was asked to work as and A&R scout for Strictly Rhythm in NYC.
Being the most requested DJ’s on the PGA Tour was never something Hugh Cleal and Bryan Jones would have ever dreamed of. Neither was being asked to go on tour as the official DJ’s but that’s what happened in 2013. The story of Golf Clap is somewhat of a Cinderella tale, with their debut single reaching #1 on the charts, to travelling around the country playing awesome shows including Movement (2104), Electric Forest (2014-15), Output, Verboten, Flash, Primary, Bar Standard, and Audio (SF). These Detroit bad boys have really made their mark on the game.
