Ooah - https://soundcloud.com/ooah
Ooah the subsonic scientist makes lots of noises, often times collaborating with other members of the strange and venerable glitch mob. Generally Ooah aka the Mob Boss brews audio concoctions consisting of banging drum beats that range anywhere from eighty-five to one hundred and ten beats per minute, squishy gut-wrenching bass frequencies, harmonic poly-rhythmic melodies and bloopy bleepy clicks and clacks. Some might know this madman for his outstanding turntablism, others for his highly energetic and consistently danceable hybrid dj/live laptop sets. No matter what the situation may be, Ooah and his fellow Glitch Mob homies are guaranteed to slay the crowd with an outrageously wicked performance and unforgettable sounds that will leave you begging for more...
A Brief History:
Born and raised on the bayous of New Orleans, slowly djing his way out west with a two year stop in Austin, TX, now residing in Los Angeles, Josh Mayer aka Ooah has been one of the west coasts innovators and instigators in genres so new they don’t even have names yet. From glitched out hip hop beats to throbbing subsonic bass pulses, Ooah’s relentless desire to push the boundaries of current club and dance music has allowed him to average 150 shows a year from coast to coast.
Ooah has earned his way respectfully sharing stages with artists such as Prefuse 73, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Tipper, edIT, Richard Devine and Diplo. Collaborating live and in the studio with Zilla (members of String Cheese Incident), The Glitch Mob, Audiovoid and Epcot.
He has also been featured on the festival circuit such as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Shambhala, Burning Man and Sonic Bloom. Currently Ooah can be found slaying crowds across the country with his homies in The Glitch Mob.
With a full-length album in the works, a slew of remixes for other artists and a grueling tour schedule, you will surely be hearing more from “The Mob Boss”.
Ana Sia - https://soundcloud.com/anasiamusic
Ana Sia’s DJ crate is a ticker for the hottest sounds of tomorrow. One of the west coast’s most celebrated DJs, this LA-based tastemaker is known for not only energizing the dance floor, but consistently breaking new sounds from all over the world. Having championed many of the most beloved music festivals in the US, Canada and abroad, Ana Sia has gone from rocking house parties to stadiums by stylistically staying two steps ahead of the game. From huge festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival and others, and an array of clubs and venues spanning every major city, countless college towns and hot spots everywhere, Ana Sia has built a community just as fun, wild and eclectic as her style. She has shared the stage with a growing list of artists ranging all styles of electronic dance music, from Diplo to Deadmau5, Datsik to Daedelus...and everybody in between. Sia unleashed her first full length contribution in 2012, a well-regarded compilation and DJ-mix titled ‘Surreal Estate’, a strong testament to her forward-thinking style, ‘Surreal Estate’ was featured in music publications such as Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, XLR8R, Sonic Router and more, touted as leading the way with the brightest production minds in North American dance music. Coupled with her growing production catalog on Frite Nite, Hot n Heavy Recordings, Thoughtless Music and high-profile collaborations underway, Ana Sia looks to make her mark on recorded music as well as the stage. In the meantime, she’ll keep crowds enticed -- keeping speakers pumping with big bass-driven, intelligent and sexy music...deep enough for the cabaret and filthy enough for the festival stage.
San Holo - https://soundcloud.com/sanholobeats
San Holo is the future beats to trap connoisseur that might be dubbed the fastest growing current electronic talent.
Making his debut in late 2014 with the COSMOS EP on Heroic, he garnered the attention of all the major tastemakers. This resulted in a friendship with the Parisian Point Point crew, who released his Hiding (ft. The Nicholas) single on their Filet Mignon compilation.
The world took notice, with San Holo growing to over 180.000 SoundCloud followers within the span of a year. His single 'We Rise' peaked came out on NestHQ (OWSLA) garnering Skrillex and Diplo's support and amassing millions of plays on SoundCloud and Spotify.
Early 2015, the Victory EP came out on the Canadian label Monstercat, renowned for having one of the most engaged and digitally oriented audiences. The release was paired with an intense visual campaign produced by San's own creative company and label bitbird.
Together with an official remix for Tchami's hit 'After Life', an Initiation Mix on BBC Radio One with Annie Nightengale and performing at the Belgium mega-festival Tomorrowland, the transition from the SoundCloud realm into real industry significance was made. Meanwhile, the 'Dr. Dre - The Next Episode' remix crossed the 40 million plays on YouTube and the 'Don't Touch The Classics' remix series is going strong.
San not being one to stay within boxes, his new single IMISSU is forthcoming on Spinnin Records, in a self-proclaimed effort to both push boundaries and bring the 'future' sound to the masses. His diversity is broad and the accompanying music video that takes place 'within the screen of the producer' is testament to that.
All this, together with a CSI synch, a forthcoming official remix for Porter Robinson, the quickly growing self-operated label bitbird, and tours in North America, Europe and Australia make San Holo perhaps the biggest 'one to watch' in 2015's electronic music scene
