((( HOUSEPITALITY ))) Extremely excited to present the exotic, sensual other worldly grooved dancefloor soundscapes of the very talented
(Bad Animal, My Favorite Robot, Viva | outer space)
(Kazbah, Common Ground)
Well, this is a very precious booking because it is could be considered rare that Öona Dahl & Amber Marie Cox are in the same city at the same time to come together as SLUMBER - we are lucky!. Together as SLUMBER they have released on on Alland Byallo's Bad Animal as well as My Favorite Robot, Viva Recordings and others. This pretty much tells something about their musical range and it makes sense. They have been best friends for over 10 years and each of them hold their own set of secret musical weapons and when they come together as SLUMBER all hinges break loose... Oona has already stablished herself as an dj/producer artist on Three's Hallucienda and recently All Day I Dream - all that speaks pretty much speaks for itself, she's magic. Amber is a music production studio musician (synth) genius with potent dance floor rocking skills which she displayed for an opening gig for us back in February.. People commented on how good her opening set was for weeks after. These ladies are straight up real musicians and just plain art curators. The look and feel and sounds of everything they put out has that certain SLUMBER aesthetic... Is any of you have ever hung out with them one on one it is obvious why they are best friends and why they were meant to make music together. SO, you can just imagine when SLUMBER gets together its VERY special -- This is their SF debut!
We are also happy to have ELZ of Kazbah and Common Ground debut her self at Housepitality for the 2.5 hour opening slot.. She has put in that work and put her self on the SF underground map as a regularly booked artist. We are excited to have her sound hit the floor this week..
WE can NOT NOT mention that our ridiculously good resident NINJA, JOEL CONWAY is BACK to do what he does best in the lounge.. ROCK THOSE BAD ASS FUNKY RARE GEMS and MIX THEM SMOOTHLY LIKE A BOSS.. (damn, we are lucky to have Mr. Conway.)
So, YOU KNOW, and DONT EVER FORGET IT>. WE GOT YOU!

Friends for almost a decade, Oona Dahl and Amber Cox have always surrounded themselves with creative energy. Meeting briefly in college and then running into each other out in the underground, they started their endeavor as best friends and business partners. Originally based out of Tampa, the Florida nightlife and their mutual passion for electronic music inspired the two to come together as one back in 2009 to form a production and performance duo. The past year they have been machines, working on transcending their own dreamlike world to form
Having been djing since 1998, Elz (aka Elizabeth Henderson) brings a blend of oldschool funky flavor and dirty deep house tech sounds to her beats. Growing up listening to oldschool breaks and house music from DJ Dan and Mark Farina along with discovering classic rock, jazz, hip-hop, and funk music she learned how to incorporate all of these elements together to create some serious flavor. She came from the underground to deliver the sound. Her first gig was in 1998 at X.O.X. 2 at the infamous 2nd and Jackson in Oakland. She then started playing at Beat Down Sundaze and became resident for Feel Good's Girl Power and played at massives like MegaBuzz, Love Affair as well as Sister SF. In 2001 Elz won best new DJ contest on House Nation (94.9 FM) in SF. She became their new resident DJ, and also won a guest appearance on the main stage at Coolworld's Cyberfest in SF and in Texas. In 2003 she won 2nd place in 92.7 Party FM Showcase at 1015 Folsom in SF.
She began getting gigs for Adidas, Puma, and Odyssey DJ Gear and in 2007 brought a new residency with the infamous SF crew Green Gorilla Lounge. Shortly after in March 2008 Elz graduated Ex'pression College with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Sound Arts and after graduation she was selected to intern for DJ Shadow. She assisted in preparation for the launch of DJ Shadow Digital (The DJ Shadow Digital Store), myspace management, web store management, and processed sound samples for the Dj Shadow digital store.
In 2009 Elz and Denise released their remix track "Get Back into The Groove Again" on Muzimo Records shortly followed by their orignal track "All Night" feat. Audio Angel, a remix of Sue Cho's "Bad Girl" and a remix of Denise and Dawn of Sound's "Death by Mary Jane" feat. Elise on Look Out Records. “Soul Power” and "Useless" produced by DJ Elz and performed by Elise were picked up by Chris Lum and David Harness for their label, Harlum Muziq in 2010. And a year later remixes were released by Master Kev and Tony Loreto, Stephen Rigmaiden, Rubien Mancias, Grand High Priest, and Reelsoul, and are still charting well all over the web. With a string of gigs in Mexico, Coachella, Miami, L.A., Tahoe, Sunset Campout, Burning Man and all over the bay area including SF's 2nd Sunday at Cocomo's and Mission Rock, Mezzanine, Temple, Mighty, Monarch, Wish, DNA Lounge, Ruby Skye, The End Up, 1015 Folsom, The Clift Hotel, Audio SF and is currently a resident DJ with the Burning Man camp The Kazbah. Elz is driven by a constant urge to push herself and evolve while always staying true to herself as an artist. For her its all about the music!
