It's the Bootie Prom! Your favorite mashup party celebrates Prom season by throwing "a Prom for the rest of us!" Come as you are or dress up in creative Prom attire for a chance to be crowned the Bootie Prom King, Prom Queen, and Best Couple at midnight! '90s Prom? Pirate Prom? Punk Prom? You decide! It's up to you, the Class of '15, to decide on the winners, who will each receive $100 cash prizes!
Your chaperones for the evening will be Bootie resident DJs A Plus D and Tripp, as they play all your old and new favorite mashups, with Prom mashups thrown into the mix! At 11 PM, your Prom mashup band, Smash-Up Derby, takes to the stage, playing a special set that will include a bunch of classic Prom favorites!
Upstairs in the Lounge, it's Bump Twerk Boom, as DJs Rockit and Ryan Andrew make you bump, sweat, and grind with bootie-twerking bass, sure to get the teachers blushing. Up in the Above, it's Retro Electro, as DJs Mr. Smith and Scrawny give you a spiked punch bowl filled with electroclash, retrowave, nerdcore, and more, with live acts Vivereine and E.N. Cowell both performing live on stage. And in the Dazzle Room, it's Blackout, as Mario Muse and Adrienne Scissorhands spin post-punk, indie, and new wave to help you survive the night! All this, plus drag hosts Willard, Shelix, and Abominatrix, making sure it's a Prom to remember, club photographer ShutterSlut capturing you in your dressed-up glory, and free Bootie CDs to the first 100 people through the door!
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D, Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past nine years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it's a place where everyone is welcome. And with free mashup CDs given away like candy, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.
