HALCYON is now open daily at Output in Williamsburg! The latest incarnation of NYC’s oldest DJ-oriented vinyl emporium harkens back to the original Carroll Gardens locale, where, according to Paper Mag in 1999, “many a hipsters day-job reverie was realized” with a “synergy of underground essentials” including a record shop, coffee bar/cafe and event space. Fast forward to 2016 and “The beating heart of NYC’s underground” (Timeout NY, 2000) has come roaring back powered by a full bar and Funktion One system. By day cozy banquettes are populated by laptop toting scenesters soaking up the tunes while chowing down on delicious pizzas, caffeinated concoctions and of course, the famed HALCYON Espresso Milk Shake. After dark HALCYON transforms into an intimate dance bar showcasing proper underground talent while revelers fuel up on Roberta’s pizza and signature coffee-based cocktails. There is never a cover and entrance from North 12th Street is hassle free, making HALCYON the underground’s choice destination for casual food, drinks and music-driven good times.
